Field maps, weather history and farm work, finally in one platform.

A modular farm platform for Nekxsum GmbH in Germany. It brings field management, weather, agronomic content, market data and task tracking into one system that farm businesses subscribe to one module at a time.

The starting point

A field is a boundary, a parcel and a history, not a row in a spreadsheet.

Farm data sat in maps, notebooks, weather apps and spreadsheets that never met. Field boundaries were approximations, work done in the field went unrecorded, and nothing tied the weather to what was actually growing.

Before

Farm data was scattered

  • Field boundaries drawn by hand, not from the official record
  • Weather checked on its own, with no field history
  • Hours and tasks logged on paper, or not at all

After

One connected farm platform

  • Fields on satellite maps, matched to cadastral parcels
  • Weather held as history against each field
  • Tasks and time logged in a few taps from the field

What we built

Seven modules, one field map, and a separate app for the people doing the work.

A production platform covering dashboard, weather, soil and fields, agronomic articles, market data, tasks and time, and subscriptions. Built with a satellite field map, German cadastral parcel integration, a separate time and task tracking application, and public content kept apart from private farm data by login state.

Scope of build

  • Soil and fields Satellite field map with boundaries and areas matched to the cadastral record. In scope
  • Weather Conditions held as history and lined up against each field. In scope
  • Tasks and time A separate application for logging jobs and hours from the field. In scope
  • Articles and market data Agronomic content and market data, published without a developer. In scope
  • Subscriptions Each module sold on its own, with the pricing model built into the platform. In scope

Delivery approach

Built module by module with a client who knows the market.

  1. Discovery Map the modules, data sources and German parcel data.
  2. Build Develop the platform and field app against agreed milestones.
  3. Migration Bring in field boundaries, parcels and existing farm data.
  4. Rollout Launch the modules and support them in production.

Results & impact

From what is happening in the field to what to do about it commercially.

The platform turns scattered field, weather and work data into one picture a farm business can act on.

Because every module stands on its own, customers start with the one that solves today's problem and add the rest when they need them.

From scattered farm records to one connected platform.

Who it's for

We work best with agritech companies and farm businesses whose data lives in the field.

You're a strong fit if

  • Agritech platforms built around field and soil data
  • Farm businesses tracking work and hours across fields
  • Product companies selling software module by module
  • Publishers of agronomic and market content

We're not the right fit if

  • You need only a weather widget or a simple map
  • Your fields and records fit in a spreadsheet
  • You want an off-the-shelf farm management subscription
  • You don't need custom workflows or integrations

The commercial picture

Milestone priced, scoped before code, source code yours.

Commercial summary

Each module was built against agreed milestones, with progress shared as it was completed and the finished platform handed over in full.

  • Staged

Modules built and delivered in agreed stages.

  • Visible

Test builds shared as each module was completed.

  • Yours

Source code and documentation handed over.

The next step is a field data session, not a sales call.

We look at your fields, your data sources and the module your customers are asking for, then scope the build around it.
